Bye, Bye Taproom!

Our old taproom has been demolished to make way for the new one which will be in the new wing - and three times larger! During construction, we have set up a temporary taproom on the sunporch. To our surprise, many of the students like this better since everyone is together on one floor during parties.

Cap Board Commends Our Success!

The Cap Board of Trustees met on December 9th and commended the Campaign team (Royce Flippin, Tom Fleming, Lisa Schmucki, and Valarie Bay) for reaching and exceeding our $5 million goal. Tom Fleming said it was a much bigger team that caused our success. And he is right! Over 1,300 cap alumni - 37% of our members have been a part of this great endeavor.

Going over the goal and breaking ground at Cap

November 14th was a historic day for Cap and Gown. We went over our $5 million goal, had our groundbreaking ceremony, and beat Yale all in the same day on the 2nd anniversary of kicking off the Cap Campaign.

We are so thankful to the 150+ volunteers and the more than 1,300 (35%) of our members who have made a pledge to the campaign.

The construction will take a year, and then we will have a grand opening to celebrate a beautiful new addition to the club with a new dining/social space, new taproom, and new outdoor event terrace, plus a renovated and expanded servery and restrooms.

We're launching the Cap blog to keep you "posted" on our progress.  So stay tuned and add your comments!
